HL-MANUFACTURING SIGNS LEASE FOR PRE-CAST FACILITY IN SENAI AIRPORT26 Feb 2022

JOHOR BAHRU, 19 Jan 2021 – Senai Airport Terminal Services Sdn Bhd (Senai Airport), a member of MMC Group has signed a long-term lease with HL-Manufacturing Industries Sdn Bhd (HLM) for HLM to expand its pre-cast facility.

The lease of land parcel measuring 5 acres is expected to increase HLM’s monthly production capacity and manufacturing of precast concrete building components, including household shelters, bathroom unit, façade, water tanks, ducts, parapet, refuse chute and planks, to cater for development projects in Singapore.

HLM is the Malaysia’s branch of Singapore’s HL Building Materials Pte Ltd, wholly owned subsidiary of Hong Leong Asia Ltd.

HLM’s director Woo Min Fong noted that Senai Airport’s strategic location and accessibility to highways are the key factors on why they select the area for their business expansion.

“Senai Airport is proud to be chosen by HLM as the preferred site to expand its precast concrete manufacturing facilities,’’ Senai Airport’s Chief Executive Officer, Kennedy Ayu said.

Construction of the manufacturing facilities is expected to be completed by mid-2022.

Senai Airport is the main air gateway of Malaysia’s southern region, with 135 acres of surrounding land available for commercial and industrial development. The vacant land parcels including in Senai Airport Free Industrial Zone and Senai Airport Aviation Park, are ideal for businesses and aviation players to set up base to cater the growing demand of the Asia-Pacific market.

To date, Senai Airport has invested more than RM600 million in developing the airport facilities and the land plots with complete infrastructure and utilities.
