Senai Airport To Organise Kids Drawing & Colouring Contest in conjunction with Merdeka celebration
SENAI, JOHOR, July 17: Senai Airport Terminal Services Sdn Bhd (SATS), the operator of Sultan Ismail International Airport in Johor Bahru, also known as Senai International, is organizing a “Kids Drawing & Colouring Contest” at the airport next month.
Themed “My Dream Airport”, the contest will be held in August, in line with the nation’s 50th Year Merdeka celebrations this year. Kennedy Ayu, the Airport General Manager said, ‘As part of our master development plan, our airport facilities and services for both the passenger and cargo terminals are currently being upgraded. Our aim is to bring the airport closer to the mind of our young as many of them are very fascinated when they see a plane landing or taking off. We chose this theme with the idea to encourage children to use the power of their imagination and creativity to envision and visualize how they want the airport to develop in line with their needs and aspirations, and communicate this through an activity which most of them would love, that is drawing and colouring. I believe it will be fun and a very interesting insight to tap into the mind of children to know how they want this airport to be, who knows, some of them may in the future play an active role to make those dreams a reality.’
‘For this contest, we have 3 categories with one category for the pre-school and two categories for primary school children. We are limiting the number of participants to only 150 participants, comprising 50 participants for each category. Participation will be selected based on eligibility and on a first-come-first-serve basis. A nominal fee of RM5 will be collected for each confirmed entry only on the day of the event. Each participant will be given a goodie bag with souvenirs and meal vouchers. We are very grateful for being able to collaborate with our business and F&B sponsor partners such as Maybank, Lavender Bistro & Cakes, Deli & Meals, Conteng Enterprise, Myna Printing, Dunkin’ Donuts, Langkawi Duty Free (M) Sdn Bhd, Super Success Trading, Famous Amos, Million Precision Time Sdn Bhd and Johore Central Store Sdn Bhd. Some of the sponsors have yet to revert with the details of their intended sponsorship as at this point of time. We recommend that the schools send the registration forms early, by or before 30th July 2007 which is the closing date’, Kennedy Ayu added.
Attractive prizes will be given away to the first, second and third winners from each category. Five consolation prizes for each category will also be given away. Each participant will also receive a certificate from the airport. Fun activities such as a clown performance, games and side contests are also being planned for the event. The half-day contest will be held at the Airport on 4th August 2007. Participation is open to all children aged from four to twelve years who are attending schools in Johor, excluding the children and relatives of SATS’ staff.
