AirAsia set to Introduce New Flights to China, The Philippines Through LTAS01 Apr 2016, by NAM NEWS NETWORK-BERNAMA

KULAI, April 1 (NNN-Bernama) -- AirAsia is set to further strengthen its position in the southern hub of Johore with the introduction of new flights from the Senai International Airport (LTAS) to Guangzhou, China and the Philippines.
AirAsia Bhd Chief Executive Officer Aireen Omar said the flights were in the final stages of planning and an announcement will be made in the near future.

"We plan to announce the direct flight from Johor Baharu to Guangzhou this month, while that to the Philippines is still being finalised," she added.

Aireen told reporters this here after welcoming the inaugural AirAsia flight from Hatyai, Thailand to the LTAS.

She said the direct international flight to Guangzhou and the Philippines would be AirAsia's seventh after Hatyai.

The budget airline has inaugurated to date, six international flights from the LTAS, namely to Bandung, Jogyakarta, Surabaya ( Indonesia), Ho Chi Minh city (Vietnam) as well as Bangkok and Hatyai in Thailand.

On the flight to Hatyai, Aireen said AirAsia had made available a daily return flight from Hatyai to Johor Baharu at 11.25 am and from Johor Baharu-Hatyai at 2.30 pm.

Meanwhile, Senai Airport Terminal Services Sdn Bhd Chief Executive Officer Md Derick Basir said he welcomed new flights and the LTAS had to date received 2.51 million passengers at both domestic and international levels.
